Rev. Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012) and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, dedicated their lives to a vision of a peaceful world rooted in strong families and lasting love. After their marriage in 1960, they worked together with unwavering commitment to advance harmony, happiness, and unity among all people.
Affectionately known as the Father and Mother of Peace, they emphasized the importance of committed marriages and healthy families as the foundation for peaceful communities and societies. Their work extended beyond cultural, national, and religious boundaries, encouraging reconciliation, mutual respect, and cooperation across the world.
At the heart of their vision is a simple yet profound belief: beyond religion, nationality, race, or ethnicity, humanity is one family—children of God, our Heavenly Parent.
To bring this vision into practice, they founded and inspired numerous international organizations, including the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), and the International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP)—along with many others—working globally to promote peace, family values, and human dignity.
