The third Youth and Family Peace Day brought together over 150 participants for an uplifting afternoon celebrating strong families, cultural diversity, and peace, featuring keynote addresses, youth activities, and vibrant performances from across the community.
Reflecting on Success and Looking Ahead to 2026
The third annual Youth and Family Peace Day was successfully held on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the Due Drop Event Centre, Sir Robinson Conference Centre. Bringing together more than 150 participants from a wide range of community, faith, and cultural backgrounds, the event celebrated unity, shared values, and the vital role of strong families in building peaceful societies.
The programme began at 1:00 pm with an opening ceremony that set a respectful and uplifting tone for the day, including a traditional blessing and the national anthem. A keynote address explored the theme “Family Building is Nation Building,” followed by welcoming remarks that emphasised collaboration, shared responsibility, and the importance of coming together across differences. The opening ceremony was enriched by a musical performance that reflected the spirit of harmony and community.
Three core sessions formed the heart of the event:
Creating a Family and Marriage Culture
This session highlighted practical community initiatives that support families and strengthen marriage, sharing insights and experiences from grassroots efforts.Peace Starts with Me (Youth Breakout Session)
Through interactive activities, young participants explored the idea that peace begins with personal responsibility. The session encouraged ongoing action through initiatives such as community clean-ups and creative expression.Becoming Blessed Families – Inclusion Across Faiths, Races, and Cultures
This session celebrated diversity through cultural expression, blessings, and shared reflections, affirming family values that transcend cultural and religious boundaries.
Cultural performances throughout the day showcased the richness of Indian, Chinese, and Pasifika traditions, contributing to an atmosphere of inclusivity and mutual respect. The event concluded with a “Visioning the Future” ceremony, closing reflections, and a shared song celebrating the belief that peace begins within the family. Participants also enjoyed opportunities to connect and network over afternoon tea, with various organisations hosting exhibition tables.
As preparations begin for the fourth Youth and Family Peace Day on 14 November 2026, organisers are committed to building on this year’s success. The focus will continue to be on nurturing inclusive family values, deepening youth engagement, and strengthening interfaith and intercultural collaboration in the pursuit of lasting peace.
Heartfelt thanks go to all staff, volunteers, performers, and contributors who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible, including the dance team, supporting missionaries, and the event photographer. Their dedication and teamwork were instrumental in bringing the vision of the day to life.
